Frequently Asked Questions
-
The first step in getting started is to schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation to see if we would be a good fit. During this call, you can tell me more about your goals for therapy, ask any questions about my treatment approach, and discuss scheduling and fees. If you feel that we would be a good fit, we can move on to the next step, which is to schedule an intake appointment.
-
The first session is the first step in the therapeutic journey and it allows us to get to know each other. I will conduct an intake that focuses on asking about the biological, psychological, and social aspects of yourself. This will also allow you to ask any questions you might have about the process and any hesitations you may have coming into therapy if this is your first time.
-
Therapy requires a collaborative relationship between the therapist and the client. Therapist’s role is to provide guidance when necessary to allow you to best meet your goals and needs. There may be times where it can be challenging and uncomfortable but I will be there to support you and guide you to become the best version of yourself.
-
At this time I only see clients virtually who reside in New York and Pennsylvania

I currently accept Aetna and 1199SEIU insurance plans. If you are covered by either of these plans, we can discuss using your in-network benefits for therapy services.
If you have a different insurance provider, I may be considered an out-of-network provider. In that case, I can provide a monthly superbill that you may submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Please note that submitting the superbill and following up with your insurance company would be your responsibility.
To make the reimbursement process easier, I have partnered with Mentaya, a platform that helps clients verify their out-of-network benefits and submit claims for reimbursement. You can use the Benefits Checker located under the Fees & Insurance tab on my website to learn more about your coverage and estimate your potential reimbursement. If you are unsure whether your plan offers out-of-network benefits or how much may be reimbursed, I encourage you to contact your insurance company directly. I am also happy to answer any questions you may have about using your insurance benefits or the reimbursement process.

This depends on your needs. Typically sessions would be held weekly or biweekly to ensure rapport building within the therapeutic relationship, We can determine what the frequency can look like thereafter.
-
No I do not prescribe medications. However I can help provide referrals to a provider that can based on course of treatment.
-
I understand that life can sometimes present unexpected circumstances that may require you to reschedule or cancel your therapy appointments. However, as a courtesy to me and my other clients in need of appointments, I kindly ask that you please remember to cancel or reschedule your appointment at least 24 hours in advance. Appointments that are cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice will be charged the full cancellation fee.

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-800-985-3059.
