Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
Talking about it hasn’t been enough. Try a different approach
What is EMDR Therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy that helps your brain process and integrate experiences that feel unresolved.
Rather than only talking about what happened, EMDR supports your nervous system in reprocessing those experiences—so they no longer feel as overwhelming in the present.
A core part of EMDR is bilateral stimulation, often done through gentle, alternating tapping (or sometimes eye movements). This back-and-forth stimulation helps your brain process intense memories in a way that feels more manageable and less activating over time.
Over time, many clients notice:
Less emotional reactivity and fewer “triggered” responses
A quieter, less intrusive inner dialogue
More space between feeling and reaction
A deeper sense of calm, clarity, and self-trust
On the outside, you may look like you have it all together. You’re responsible, self-aware, and used to showing up for others. But internally, it can feel different— like your mind won’t slow down, your body is always a little on edge, or certain emotions feel bigger than you expect.
You may have already tried to “talk it through.” And yet, something still lingers. EMDR therapy offers a way to gently process what’s been carried—so you can move forward with more ease
For when insight isn’t enough—but you’re ready to feel different
What you can expect during an EMDR Therapy session?
Check In & Set the Focus
We start by grounding and checking in on how you’re feeling.
Together, we choose what feels most important to focus on that day—whether it’s a specific memory, feeling, or pattern.
Get you Grounded
Before we begin processing, we make sure you feel steady and supported.
You’ll use simple grounding tools so you can stay present and in control throughout the session.
Gentle Processing
Using bilateral stimulation (like alternating tapping or guided eye movements), your brain begins to process what’s been feeling stuck.
You don’t have to relive everything—
we move at a pace that feels manageable for you.
Reflect & Close
We slow things down, notice any shifts, and help you leave the session feeling grounded.
We also check in on what felt helpful and adjust for next time.
What can EMDR Therapy help with?
EMDR isn’t just for one type of experience.
It’s designed to help your mind and body process what still feels unresolved—whether it’s something clearly identifiable or more subtle and ongoing.
It can support you with:
Anxiety, overthinking, and a constantly “on” mind
Feeling emotionally reactive or easily triggered
People-pleasing, perfectionism, and difficulty setting boundaries
Relationship patterns that feel hard to break
Past experiences that still feel present in your body
Body image concerns and the internalized beliefs that shape how you see yourself
Chronic stress, burnout, or high-functioning overwhelm
Internalized guilt, shame, or pressure
Navigating cultural, family, or intergenerational dynamics
